Nancy Drew. Shadow by the Water: Walkthrough

Dear readers, we are glad to welcome you to the walkthrough of Nancy Drew: Shadow by the Water, which is rightfully considered one of the best games in the series of quests about Nancy Drew. Before diving headfirst into the mysteries of the ancient ryokan, we would like to tell you about the titles that you can receive at the end of the game:

Cat Whisperer- for pacifying a violent robot cat;
- Easter Egg- the developers, as always, have prepared a lot of surprises for you;
- Clothes designer- are you ready to demonstrate your design talent to the whole world?
- Finder - for viewing a terrifying recording in Yumi’s apartment;
- Honest burglar- where he took it, he put it there;
- Puzzle Master- Can you cope with all of Rentaro's puzzles? (with our walkthrough of the game Nancy Drew: Shadow by the Water, of course YES!);
- Sound engineer - you will have to record and listen a lot;
- Chef - can you master the art of making bento to perfection?
- Souvenir lover- only the one who receives all the prizes will receive this achievement;
- Clean - bathing extremely important for a young body;
- Ideal teacher- for error-free work with students;
- Know-it-all - just Answer the quiz question correctly at the end of the game.

As always, the walkthrough of Nancy Drew: Shadow by the Water begins with Nancy's beautifully decorated desktop. With the experienced eye of a detective, you can find the following items on it:

The book “What a Detective Should Know” is a must-read for all those for whom the game Shadow by the Water was their first acquaintance with the beautiful Nancy Drew;
- Folder “Case Materials” - a brief description of your upcoming adventures;
- A plate of chocolates - eat for your health;
- A plane ticket is one click and you are already thousands of kilometers from your home in the land of the rising sun.

But before you find yourself inside an extremely hospitable hotel, you need to choose a difficulty level - junior or senior detective. The latter features heavier puzzles and a lack of a detailed task list. In our walkthrough of Nancy Drew: Shadow by the Water, we chose the difficulty level of junior detective.

You are welcome to a ryokan - a traditional Japanese hotel, where you can touch the history and traditions of the Japanese people. As soon as the main character says her name at the reception, a painting immediately falls from the wall. The elderly hotel owner, Takae Nagai, will see this as a bad omen and will want to throw you out the door, but her young granddaughter, Miwako, will not allow her to behave in such a rude manner. Take the key to your room (24) from the counter and chat with Miwako about all the topics that interest you.

After this, you can begin to examine the foyer in which you are now. On a small pink table in the corner of the room lies the book "Famous Gardens of Kyoto." Open the spread with a description of the stones in the gardens and take a photo of both pages with your phone - this information will be very useful for the further passage of Nancy Drew: Shadow by the Water. In the other corner of the room, on a table near the changing screen, you will find the book "Ghost Stories of Japan. Volume 3". You can quickly familiarize yourself with its contents, but, unfortunately, you will not find useful information.

Now is the time to take a little break from the road, so go to your room. Head into the passage that is located to the left of the reception. Behind it is a staircase leading to the second floor. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to reach the room calmly. Your privacy will be interrupted by a phone call from Bess and Jess, with whom you will have to talk, willy-nilly. When you're done chatting, go up to the second floor. The door to your room is on the right, the third one, the room number is 24. To open it, just use the key from your inventory. Come inside. In the room, in the far left corner, on the floor there is a plastic box with a green lid and a brown folder.

Let's start with the box. Inside it there is a folder with personal cards of your future students. Take a quick look at its contents. In addition, next to it is a folder with the first works of young students. Fortunately, the localizers have completely translated the answers into Russian, so checking the work will be absolutely easy - you just need to mark it correctly or incorrectly next to each line. Please note that checking the work does not affect the main passage of Nancy Drew: Shadow by the Water and will only provide the title at the end of the game.

Inside the brown folder you will find a lot of important information about the ryokan and its surroundings. In addition, on the left side you will find white empty envelopes, which will be useful to you if you decide to send something to someone. When you've finished examining the folder, turn around. To the right of the front door is a small closet, the bottom of which is painted pink. Inside the closet you will be surprised to find your own travel suitcases. Take the following items with you:

Japanese phrasebook;

Jaguar card half hidden under a white T-shirt. This is your Tokyo subway pass;

This completes the inspection of the room, the walkthrough of Nancy Drew: Shadow by the Water again leads you to the first floor. After going down the stairs, do not go out into the foyer, but turn left and move forward along the corridor with rooms until you see a blue curtain with a hieroglyph on the right. Try to go inside, but an excitable guy named Rentaro standing up from behind it will explain to you that the blue curtain means that only men are allowed into the bathhouse, and the red one means only women. So for now, entry to the bathhouse is prohibited for Nancy. After this, Rentaro will disappear, finally saying that he can be found in the garden. This is exactly what you need to do to continue passing the game Shadow by the Water. Follow the same path that Rentaro disappeared and you will find yourself in a beautiful garden. Take three steps along the gray path, and then turn left onto a small bridge that will lead you straight to the workshop. Talk to Rentaro about all topics.

Looks like slender, pretty American women are his type. Before you know it, the guy will give Nancy a puzzle magazine. It is not necessary to solve them. But if you still solve all the puzzles that Rentaro gives you, then at the end of the game Nancy Drew: Shadow by the Water you will receive the corresponding achievement. The first puzzle is called a nonogram. The magazine has a very clear description of its rules, so we will not repeat it. Having successfully solved the nonogram, you can contact Rentaro for the next portion of brain food.

This time the young technician will ask you to solve Sudoku. In front of you will be a playing field of 9 by 9 cells, divided into 9 squares with sides of 3 by 3 cells. Some of the cells will be filled with numbers from 1 to 9, others will be empty. You need to fill in the empty cells so that in each row, column and 3 by 3 square the number occurs only once.

When starting to solve Sudoku, start with the most completed columns, squares and rows. Since in the game Shadow by the Water it is not possible to mark cells in which there may be several possible solutions, we recommend that you fill in only those cells that you are completely sure are correct. At the same time, do not forget to check that the number is not repeated either in a row, or in a column, or in a square. Be especially careful at the beginning of the game, since correcting a mistake made at the beginning will be quite difficult and you may have to start the solution from the very beginning.

The third and final puzzle that can be obtained from Rentaro is called the Renogram. Its essence is to fill all the cells so that you get a chain from 1 to 56. Each next number must be connected to the previous one horizontally, vertically and diagonally. Coping with this puzzle is not too difficult, the main thing is to try to fill in the cells located along the edges of the playing field as much as possible. If there are numbers nearby that are very different from each other, then try to think about how you can get to the larger number.

After this short break, you can return to the actual passage of Nancy Drew: Shadow by the Water. Follow the path to the foyer. As you get closer, you will witness a not very pleasant scene. Disgruntled visitors unleash a barrage of anger on Miwako. Strange noises from their room scare them to death and they want to leave the ryokan as soon as possible. Try to ask Miwako more about these guests, but you will receive a polite refusal.

Perhaps knowledge of Japanese traditions will help you when communicating with the castle staff? It's time to visit room number 18, where old lady Takae gives lessons in Japanese culture. Go through the doorway on the right side of the reception, and then turn left - you will find yourself in a long corridor. You need the last door on the right. After talking with the old lady, you can begin your first test in the walkthrough of Nancy Drew: Shadow by the Water. You need to write your name! But not in the usual English/Russian, but in Japanese.

On a piece of paper in front of you are drawn the outlines of future letters, which consist of parts marked with numbers. Your task is to draw a line in each part without lifting the pen (without releasing the left mouse button). To move between parts, you can, of course, tear the pen off the sheet. If Nancy doesn't like your work, you'll have to redo everything from the very beginning. To do this, click on the blank piece of paper at the top of the screen. If you still can’t cope with the hated ink, then you can always come back here and repeat the lesson.

After Nancy's name is written in obscure Japanese, talk to old lady Takae about all the topics that interest you. Then examine the small cabinet in the corner of the room. In its top right drawer you will find a book describing the meanings of Japanese characters. Now, if you don't mind, it would be nice to get some fresh air again in a beautiful Japanese garden. And at the same time, visit Rentaro, who is in the process of repairing a painting that was broken when you first appeared at the ryokan. The passage of the game Shadow by the Water requires that you help the hapless mechanic.

Day five

Ryokan Hiei

Waking up in the morning, we immediately grab the phone and call first our friends, and then Savannah. We look at the photo that Yumi sent us and go down to the hall. We talk with Miwako, then ask Rentaro and Tanaka questions in turn. We go to the slot machine hall.

Slot machine hall

We leave the hotel and go to the metro. On the board, click on the “Kure” station and automatically get there. We go into the slot machine hall and win the collar that Rentaro asked us for. We return to the hotel.

Ryokan Hiei

We go to the workshop, talk with Rentaro and give him the collar for the robotic cat we won. A delighted Rentaro leaves, and we inspect his table. We take the magnetic one from the table card with a star in a circle. We follow to the hotel lobby, we find on the table book about the stones of Japan and study it carefully. We collected all the necessary stones last night, so we head to the slab that we found to the left of the key thrown into the water. We find the active point on the left and begin to place stones on a stone slab.

- Heart stone(a flat stone that looks like a step) put in the slot that looks like a heart (1)

- Soul Stone(a low vertical stone with a wide base, tapering at the top) put in the slot with a snake (2)

- Stone-body(tall vertical stone) put in the slot with the drawn man (3)

- Bull stone(an inclined stone with a protruding horn) put in the slot with the bull's head (4)

- Stone-branch(a stone with a flat top that is wider than the base) put in the slot with a tree (5)

If everything is done correctly, a cache will open below. Let's take it letter, and return to the hotel. We talk with Miwako, then go up to our room. Please note that what we wrote hieroglyphs changed their color. We call Jess and set our alarm for one in the morning.

After the alarm goes off, we leave the room and go downstairs. We approach the door of the culture room, take out the key found in the water from the inventory and unlock the door with it. We enter the room and approach a low cabinet on the floor. Open the right door and take it from there kettle and the key to the bottom drawer. We pull out the middle drawer and take out a book on the art of origami. A letter from the cache automatically appears on the screen, which must be correctly folded along the lines. Let's look into book and find clues in it.

We pick it up from the floor to the right of the table red card, and leave the room. We approach the fireplace in the hall and hang the kettle on the hook. When the kettle starts whistling steam, and we will hear Nancy's comment, we take out an envelope with a password from the inventory, and use it on steam from the kettle. On the piece of paper from the envelope we see password, written in Russian (in the original version - in English) language. But Miwako has a keyboard with hieroglyphs, so at the moment we need to translate the found password into hieroglyphs. We remove the kettle from the hook and return to the culture room. We open the top drawer of the cabinet, take out the book “Writing in Japanese” and study it. We find the translation into hieroglyphs of the word “ Takakawa" Use the key to the chest to unlock the bottom drawer and read another letter from Kasumi. We leave the room and go to the reception desk. We calm Ski down by giving the robot cat the command “Mate” and click on keyboard.

We find the corresponding hieroglyphs on the keyboard, click on them and enter the program. We scroll through the information, then analyze it. It turns out that five rooms were never rented out to guests: 5, 7, 25, 30 and 33. We are only interested in the rooms on the second floor - 25, 30 and 33. Having found out the necessary information, we exit the program. Open the box and take it from there Easter Egg. We put the envelope with the password back into the box and close it. We turn around and look at the panel on the wall. Now we have all five cards to try to find the right code and open the wall safe. On the table on the right is instructions, which tells you how to decipher the color code. To open the safe, you need to place the cards in the holes in the correct order and rotate the geometric shapes until the colors match the selected color code.

We place multi-colored cards into slots in this order: blue, red, green, yellow, purple. All cards except the green one are rotated once by clicking on the bottom button. We take from the safe the key to the rooms whose numbers end in 8/9. We leave from behind the reception desk and go to the part of the wing in which the bathhouse is located. We pass by the bathhouse, go to the end of the corridor and go out into the garden. Let's take a step forward and look to the left. We look at the mysterious structure from bamboo and hurry to Rentaro's workshop. We take it from the shelf on the right screwdriver, and return to bamboo. Using a screwdriver, we open the ingenious hiding place and take out a piece of paper from there. first half of the puzzle. All work is finished for today, so we go to our room to rest until 19-00.

Day six

Exhibition

We get up on the alarm clock, leave the hotel and go to the exhibition. We communicate with Yumi on all available topics, give her the won keychains for the phone, praise the photos sent to us and return to the hotel.

Ryokan Hiei

Without going into the hotel, we take out the phone and call Savannah. The writer recalls that the passage to the basement was opened with the help of a carved bird. All that remains is to find this bird. We enter the hotel and go to the culture room to ask Takae all the questions that interest us. Having finished the conversation, we rush to Rentaro’s workshop to discuss with him all the accumulated questions. Having found out all the information we are interested in, we go to the second floor. We reach the end of the corridor, turn to the door of room 38 and open it using the service key. We enter the room and look around. The room is empty, so we approach the panel that shows star. We take out from the inventory the magnetic card with an asterisk, which we grabbed from Rentaro’s desk, and use it on this door. We go into the next room, in which we also open the door to another room using a magnetic card. We reach the last room and return to the end of the corridor. Now we unlock the door of room 39 with the service key and enter. Using the magnetic key we also go into other rooms. As soon as we hear a terrible grinding sound in room 35, we find ourselves near the balcony door, which is locked with a combination lock in the form of a mosaic.

Having collected mosaic That's right, Nancy will be able to jump from the balcony. Be careful, this is a timed task. True, we will always have a second chance to put the puzzle together. You can also use save “Mosaic completed”, after downloading which all you have to do is click on the lock and jump from the balcony. Having risen from the ground and dusted ourselves off, we return to the hotel, still in the same room 39. We open this number with the service key, and then use the magnetic card to get to the penultimate number, 33 on this side. On the left wall we find picture with a bird, which Savannah told us about. Click on this picture and the door to the secret passage opens. At this time, the sixth photo from Yumi arrives on our phone. Some players in this location sometimes have trouble opening the secret passage, so they can use save "The secret passage is open." We go down to the basement and look around. We absolutely do not like a pool with dirty water. We turn around and find it on the table a note from Yumi. After reading the note, pay attention to puzzle to the left of the door. We look to the right and find it in the wall walled up door. We go upstairs and go to the exhibition to talk with Yumi.

Exhibition

We ask Yumi about everything, praise Bess’s photo and head to the slot machine hall.

Slot machine hall

When we approach the photo booth, we receive seventh photo from Yumi, which shows her with Rentaro. At this point, some players have difficulties because this last photo does not appear. There is for them save "All photos received". Click on the slot at the bottom right so that the mobile phone is automatically inserted into it. Click on the right panel, and then print out all the photos received from Yumi one by one. Open the inventory and select any photo so that all seven pictures appear on the monitor. We notice lines in the photographs and collect a small photo puzzle so as to get four hieroglyphs. We return to the exhibition.

Exhibition

We ask Yumi a question that interests us and receive the answer that this was a kind of test, and the photographs contain a digital code. We help Yumi make the last bento. Anyone who has difficulty leaving a bento can use save "The third bento is ready" After talking with the girl, we automatically find ourselves at the door of her apartment, where we enter by opening the door with Yumi’s key.

Yumi's apartment

We approach the shelf with toys and pick up the right frog. Click on the arrows and enter hieroglyphs, which we collected from photographs.

We take the second part of the nonogram from the cache. We set the alarm for 19-00 and fall asleep. At night we wake up from a knock on the window. Click on the right side of the window and watch the inscriptions appear outside the window. Reading the latest inscription and automatically find ourselves in our room the next morning.

Day seven

Ryokan Hiei

We go downstairs, try to get Miwako to talk, then go up to the second floor. We follow the familiar path to room 33 and go down to the basement. We approach the grid and decide nonogram.

Anyone who has difficulties with this can use the save "The nonogram in the basement is ready". We take Kasumi's farewell letter and a knife with a sheath from the safe. We move away from the hiding place and find ourselves in the water under a fishing net. We take out a knife from inventory and quickly cut net the shortest way until the “life bar” runs out at the top, otherwise Nancy will choke.
Those who do not have time to get out from under the water can use save "The ropes of the net are cut." Having got out of the pool, we approach the lying doll and carefully examine her elbow joint, then lift the doll’s head by the hair and look into her face. We go up to the room, call our friends and Savannah. We head to the culture room and talk to Takae twice, forcing her to tell the truth about Kasumi's death. We go out into the garden and hurry to Rentaro's workshop. We go into the workshop, but there is no one there, but on the table on the right we find an improved voice recorder, which we take with us. On the left on the workbench we find pink note, and translate it using a phrasebook. Please note that we are talking about room 33. We also take the orange remote control from the table.

We return to the hotel, go up to the second floor and approach the door of room 33. We take out the remote control and use it to open the door, keeping the remote control with you (do not put it in your inventory). We enter the room and find there the culprit of all misfortunes. As soon as the culprit tries to escape, we point the remote control at the door and it slams. We lift from the floor Dictaphone and click on the first channel button to record the villain’s confession. After presenting the recorder to the culprit, you will be faced with a choice: give him a chance to reform or not forgive him. The choice, as always, is yours. However, after the credits, you can load the game and select a second chance to view an alternative ending to the game. Let's watch the final video.

I express my gratitude Petrova Tatiana(Ondine) for providing her version of the explanation of bento preparation.

I played for myself, but wrote for you Galina Yasnikova

If you are having problems with Walkthrough of the game Shadow by the Water, you can always use our advice and information to take action. We describe in detail the steps that need to be taken to completely complete the game. Shadow by the water. In the most difficult places we add pictures that can help you. Walkthrough Shadow by the Water read on our website.

The first day

Begin . Enter the hotel and go to the reception. A girl and an old woman are already waiting for you there. The girl who works at the reception is called Miwako, and the old lady is Takae, she is the girl's grandmother. Get the key to room 24 from Miwako. The grandmother in room 18 gives lessons in Japanese arts. The portrait that fell earlier shows Mother Mikavo.

Turn around and you will find 2 books on the tables. There you will read about the stones of the Japanese garden, and also about the legend of a ghost named Okiku. At the stand you can view the hotel guests, there are only 5 people there. The hotel consists of 2 wings. Your room is located in the left wing, facing the reception. By the way, you can find it here.

As soon as you find yourself in the corridor, the bell will ring and your friends will call. You should go up to the 2nd floor and open number 24. Then open the right locker and take out a Japanese dictionary from the suitcase, as well as a subway card. On the left you can read the hotel information, it is in a brown folder. You will need letter envelopes later.

Nearby is a green box containing student work. In the 1st folder there is a description of each student, and in the 2nd folder there is their work. Their work will be updated every morning. You can check them, for the correct answer we put a green tick, but if the answer is not correct, then a red cross. If you check the work correctly, at the end of the game you will be given a star as a reward.

Go down and follow the opposite wing. There you will find yourself in a sauna, it is opposite room 7 on the 1st floor. There is a blue curtain in front of the door, you need to click on it and this is how you will meet Rentaro. He will tell you that if there is a blue one posted, then there are men there, if there is a red one, then there are women. Follow Rentaro and you will find yourself in the garden, go through the garden, bridge and open the door of the house. This is the work of Rentaro's friend. He will tell you a story about a ghost and also give you a book with puzzles. You will have to solve them throughout the game. If you manage to solve a lot of them, you will receive a star as a reward.

First puzzle called "Nanogram".

You will need to draw the empty squares according to the numbers above the columns and rows. For example, if it says 4, you will need to draw 4 squares in a row. If it says 2, 2, 4, then first draw 2 squares, then after a few squares another 2, then after a few more 4. The only difficulty is that you will need to look at both the number in the line and the number in the column . We start with the line or column with the highest numbers.

Solution:

Once you complete the task, you need to give it to Rentaro, he will receive a book with Sudoku, and you also have the right to ask for another task.

You will have to fill in the blank spaces with numbers from 1 to 9. There should not be the same numbers in each 3 by 3 square, in each column and in each row. We start with something, preferably with the one with the most filled in numbers.

Solution:

Then we give your task to Rentaro. He will give you the 3rd task called “Renogram”. You will need to place the empty squares of the missing numbers so that they touch the previous and subsequent numbers. You can place numbers vertically, diagonally and horizontally.

Then go back to the corridor. There, the girl who is staying at the hotel will complain about the Phantom, and she is also going to leave the hotel. Chat with Miwako and you will notice that there are only two residents left. We go to room 18, it’s in the right wing, for a lesson in Japanese arts.

You and your grandmother will learn the Japanese katakana script. Take a brush with ink in the upper corner of the screen and paint over the stencil. The icons must be drawn in one motion, without moving your hand, and also do not go beyond the boundaries. If you suddenly make a mistake, you will need to take a new piece of paper at the top of the screen and start all over again.

Once you're done, you'll want to turn your attention to the cabinet against the wall. Then open the top right drawer and read the book about Japanese characters. After class, we go to our room and set the alarm for 19.00. Then we go to rest, something will disturb you at night and you will wake up. There is shadow on the balcony, and the screen is made of papyrus paper, which, believe me, will tear. Let's go out onto the balcony and look around it, you won't see anyone there. Go to bed and rest. The first day ends walkthrough of the game Nancy Drew. Shadow by the water.

Second day

In the morning, the table you made in class will appear on the left wall. Check the students' notebooks from the green box. Go into the corridor, you will hear a bell, these are your friends, they are at the exhibition. They will tell you that they met Yumi, this is Miwako’s older sister, she works in Bento, this is a store. Then go to Miwako and tell her about the torn door. Rentaro will fix it for you. Next you need to go to class. Today you will be taught the art of origami, which is the creation of various shapes from paper. Let's look at the pictures in the middle of the screen and put tables under them that correspond to them. On the origami tables there is one step before the end.

Solution:

Once you complete it, go to the closet. Open the right central drawer and read a book about the art of origami. Then go to the sauna, when you get there, you will need to click on the arrow towards the mirror. A ghost will appear here and break the mirror. As soon as he does this, turn to the right and examine what is in the baskets after. There you should find a piece of paper with a list of Japanese signs, as well as a card for playing slot machines. Head left through the doors and take a swim. If you visit the sauna often, you will receive a star as a reward. Near the pool we inspect the wall on the right, something will be missing. Go to other pages of the site!

Then we go into the corridor and report what happened to Miwako, but she will tell you that this is just a figment of your imagination. We go outside and go to the exhibition, where you will meet Yumi. There is a pointer in front of you, to translate what is written on it, you need to get dictionaries and click on the pointer. Then we go left to the metro. The hotel is located at Misawa Station and the exhibition is located at Matsue Station. Click on the metro map with a table of station names and get directions:

Misawa - Nagoya - Otsu - Aomori - Kochi - Tochigi - Seto - Niigata - Fuji - Iga - Matsue.

Then click on the information board on the names of these stations, and you will find yourself at the exhibition. On the railing, take the newspaper about the Japanese magic box. To get from the metro to the exhibition, you need to click on the down arrow.

Unfortunately, the exhibition will be closed. Near the entrance you will see a stand telling about mechanical cats. We go to the right and go to the girl behind the counter of the store where Yumi works. She will ask you to fold a Bento - a box of Japanese food. This puzzle is randomly generated and there is no walkthrough for it. You can solve it like this. There will be boxes with ingredients on the left, and instructions for them on the right. You will need to fill 9 squares. Let's start with those where there will be double pictures: rabbit-rice, bear-egg, etc. For example, in picture 1 in the middle slot there is a rabbit-egg, which means you need to take an egg with a picture of a rabbit on the left and put it in the middle slot. In the left corner of the instructions there is a cat and an egg, then you need to put an egg with a picture of a cat and so on.

Some solutions:

If you manage to distribute a lot of Bento, you will receive a star as a reward and can also win an additional keychain for your mobile phone from Yumi. Chat with Yumi, she will ask you to go to her house and bring a couple of Bento boxes. Take the keys to the apartment from her, and also take her phone number. Yumi resides at Kurume Station. Let's take the metro and create a new route:

Matsue - Iga - Kobe - Miyazaki - Urawa - Kurume.

As soon as you are there, you will receive 2 SMS from Yumi. We open the door and take a couple of Bento boxes from the table. We turn right and find a disk for the computer in the closet. Then you need to go to it and look at what's on the disk. For watching you will receive a star as a reward. Try to turn off the computer, but it asks you for a password. We look at the shelf above the computer and read the note from Kasumi, the girls’ mother. Also on the shelf you will see frogs, lift the right one, there is something inside, but it is locked with a combination lock. Read a book about shadow theater. Let's turn to the bed and take a book about ghosts under the pillow. In it you will find a business card from the author Savannah Woodham. Let's flip through the book and you'll notice that the chapter about Ryokan has been torn out. We call Savannah, but you won’t get through to her; her assistant Logan will answer the phone. Call, but it will also be unsuccessful, 3 times the answering machine will turn on.

We return back to the exhibition in Matsue. We give away the Bento boxes, for which Amy will thank you with a keychain for her mobile phone. After we ask her about the books and the disk, she will answer you that the book about shadow theater is Miwako’s book. Then we praise her dress, she will tell you that she modulates the dresses herself using the “avatar” program. Yumi will give you a password to log into the computer, on the condition that you unfold the Bento one more time. Once you succeed, she will give you a leaf with a stencil of multi-colored circles. Return to Amy's apartment.

There will be a call on the phone, right in front of the doors. When you pick it up, you will hear noise. Next, we go to the computer and look at the sheet of paper with the stencil that Yumi gave you. You need to fill out his form and circles. Then you should click on the “avatar” tab and select a stencil of the same shape. Move it around the screen until you find circles of the same color as on the hint. You will have access to your computer. Select one of the empty slots on the screen and modulate the clothes. On the right side of the screen there will be a keyboard for sending SMS. You can make several avatars and send them to yourself, as well as Bess, Jess, Amy and Savannah. To do this, you need to look at the phone numbers in the “Phone - Contacts - Settings” tab on your phone and dial them on the computer screen. To save your avatar in your phone, you need to go to the “Phone - Contacts - Settings” section. There will be an empty silhouette above the number and name, which you can scroll through using the arrows. Select the avatar you need and click “Save”. If you manage to make enough avatars and send them to your friends, then you will be given a star as a reward at the very end. As soon as you move away from the computer, you will receive 2 SMS on your phone, one about creating avatars, and the other funny black and white. We return to the Ryokan, set the alarm clock and go to rest. The second day ends walkthrough of the game Nancy Drew. Shadow by the water.

Day three

We follow to the room numbered “18”. Takae's tea ceremony will take place here. It is necessary to learn the names of the located objects, and then place signs right next to them. Having done everything correctly, you will see the Phantom. We talk with Takae, she will tell you that her daughter is Kasumi. We call Savannah and talk to Logan. We call our friends back and complain that we can’t get through to Savannah. Logan and Savannah are currently visiting the exhibition, Jess has come up with a plan. She and Bess will find Savannah. The demon will distract Logan, and we can talk with Savannah. We go to Rentaro and thank him for fixing the balcony door. We ask Rentaro what happened to the portrait that hung in the hotel lobby. He will tell you that he can repair the portrait. You need to deal with the wires, place them in such a way that they do not cross each other!

We then click on the frame on the portrait and take out the certificate hidden behind it. In addition, here is a clipping from a newspaper article. The certificate was issued by Savannah herself, who allegedly cleared the apartment of spirits. We talk with Rentaro and ask about Savannah. We show him a newspaper article, but Rentaro refuses to translate it. Walking out the door, we accept an incoming call from Jess. She found Savannah. We call Savannah back and talk with the woman about everything. She agrees to translate an article from a newspaper, to do this she needs to send it to Logan.

We go to Nancy's room, where there is an envelope, inside a brown folder. We put the article from the newspaper inside the envelope, call Savannah, this time Logan picks up the phone. Logan liked Bess, and for the sake of our friend he was going to find the book. We take the envelope to Miwako in the hall, leave the corridor, going out into the street or into the garden, then dial Savannah again. Logan finally found the book, but asks Bess for a gift for the book.

The game is non-linear.
The senior and junior detectives differ in the complexity of the puzzles.
For those who play games in the series for the first time, training is provided.
Nancy has a multifunctional mobile phone.
Bess and Jess give clues.
The game was played in English, so during localization there may be differences in the translation of some technical terms and names.
Nancy lives according to a schedule:
until 19:00 she teaches English to Japanese students,
From 19.00 to 22.30 he attends classes in Japanese traditional arts.
The reception is open from 7 am to 1 am.
If you want to change the time, use the alarm clock on your mobile phone.
There are four Easter eggs.
After another investigation, Nancy goes to Kyoto to relax in a traditional inn (ryokan).

1. Day one

It's 19:00. Enter the hotel and go to the reception desk, behind which are a girl and an old woman. At this time, a portrait will fall from the wall. The old lady will say that this is a bad sign and will leave. Meet the girl - her name is Miwako. She will give you the key to the room (number 24) and tell you a little about the hotel.

Her family has owned a ryokan since the 17th century, and the tradition is passed down from mother to eldest daughter (Miwako is the youngest daughter). The old lady's name is Takae, she is Miwako's grandmother and gives lessons in traditional Japanese arts in room 18. Miwako has a mechanical cat that can be made to sit with the command "Tate". The fallen portrait depicts Miwako's mother (the girl will refuse to talk about this in more detail).

Turn around and look for two books on the low tables on either side of the front door - you should read information about the stones of a traditional Japanese garden and the legend of a ghost named Okiku. Near the reception desk there is a stand on which the names of the hotel guests are written (there are only five of them, including Nancy). Opposite the front door is the exit to the garden. The hotel itself consists of two wings. Nancy's room is located in the left wing, if you face the reception.

When you go out into the corridor, your girlfriends will call you. Go up to the second floor and open room 24. Turn around to the front door and open the right cabinet. Take out a Japanese dictionary and a subway card from your suitcase.

There is a brown folder on the floor against the left wall. Read information about the hotel. The ryokan is located at Misawa Subway Station. Tourists are advised to visit the Future Technologies exhibition at Matsue Subway Station and the arcade at Kure Station. Pay attention to the envelopes for letters - you will soon need them.

Nearby there is a green box containing the work of Japanese students. The first folder contains brief information about each student, and the second contains the work itself. You can take stamps and mark next to each phrase whether the student answered correctly or incorrectly. If the answer is correct, put a green tick; if not, put a red cross. The works will be updated every morning.

If you check all the works correctly, you will receive an asterisk in your title at the end of the game.

Go downstairs. Go to the opposite wing and find the sauna (on the first floor opposite room 7). There is a blue curtain hanging in front of the door, click on it and meet Rentaro. He will say that if there is a blue curtain hanging over the door, it means that men wash in the sauna, and if there is a red curtain hanging, then women can enter.

Follow Rentaro and you'll come out into the garden. Go through the garden, the bridge and open the door of the house. Rentaro works here. He will tell you about the local ghost and give you a book of Japanese puzzles. They can be solved throughout the game.

If you solve a lot of puzzles, you can get a star for your title at the end of the game.

The first puzzle is called a "nanogram" or Japanese crossword puzzle.

You need to shade the empty squares according to the numbers above the columns and rows. For example, if it says “5,” it means you need to shade 5 squares in a row. If it is written: “1, 1, 3,” then you first need to shade 1 square, then after a few cells another 1, and then after a few cells 3 more. The difficulty lies in the fact that at the same time you need to look at both the number in the column and to a number in a line. Start with the row or column that has the largest numbers.

Junior detective:

Senior Detective:

Give Rentaro the finished task, and he will give you a book with Sudoku (you can also ask for a new task with a nanogram).

You must fill in the empty fields with numbers from 1 to 9. There should not be the same numbers in each 3 by 3 square, in each row and in each column. Start with the row or column that has the most completed numbers.

Give Rentaro the completed task. The third puzzle is called "renogram". You need to place the missing numbers in the empty squares so that they touch the previous and next ones. Numbers can be placed horizontally, vertically and diagonally.

Solution (same for both difficulty levels):

Return to the lobby and you will hear that one of the hotel guests is complaining about ghosts and is planning to leave here. Talk to Miwako about this and note that there are only 2 guests left in the inn. Go to room 18 (right wing from reception) for a traditional Japanese arts class.

Takae, Miwako's grandmother, is waiting for you. She will say that today you will learn the Japanese letter "katakana". Take the ink brush in the upper right corner of the screen and carefully paint over the stencil. Each icon must be drawn in one motion, without moving your hand, and try not to go beyond the stencil. If you make a mistake, take a new sheet at the top of the screen and start again (you will write "Nancy Drew" in Japanese).

When you're done, turn to Takae's left and notice the small cabinet against the wall. Open the top right drawer and read the book about Japanese characters.

Go to your room, set your alarm for 19:00 and go to bed. Something will wake you up at night. You will see a shadow on the balcony and the tissue paper screen used for the door will be torn. Look around the balcony - there is no one there. Nancy decides to go back to bed.

2. Day two

Notice that on the left wall of your room there is a sign that you made in calligraphy class yesterday. You can check the students' notebooks from the green box (optional).

When you go out into the corridor, your girlfriends who are at an exhibition of modern technologies will call you. They will tell you that they met Yumi, Miwako's older sister, who works at a bento shop. Go to the hall and tell Miwako about the torn door - she will send Rentaro to fix it. It's time for class.

Today Takae will teach you the art of origami - creating various figures from paper. Look at the pictures in the center of the screen and place the corresponding signs under them (the signs have origami drawn one step before completion).

Solution (same for both difficulty levels):

When you're done, be sure to go to the locker opposite Takae. Open the middle right drawer and read the book about the art of origami.

Now it's time to visit the sauna. When you enter there and click on the arrow towards the mirror, a ghost will appear in the room and break the mirror. After his attack, turn right and examine the contents of the baskets on the rack. You should find a sheet of paper with a list of bad Japanese signs and a card for playing slot machines. Go left through the double doors and give Nancy a bath.

If you go to the sauna often, you will receive an asterisk in your title at the end of the game.

Near the pool, look at the wall on the right - something is missing in one of the tiles.

Go to the hall and tell Miwako about the ghost who broke the mirror, but she will say that it is just a figment of your imagination. Go outside - you need to go to the exhibition and meet Yumi. There is a sign in front of you in Japanese. To translate what is written on it, take out the dictionary and click on the pointer. Go left into the subway.

The hotel is located at Misawa Station and the exhibition is located at Matsue Station. Click on the metro map to the left of the information board with the names of stations and get directions (the map can be moved by holding the mouse):

Misawa - Nagoya - Otsu - Aomori - Kochi - Tochigi - Seto - Niigata - Fuji - Iga - Matsue.

Click on the names of these stations on the information board and you will arrive at the exhibition. On the staircase railing, pick up a newspaper about a Japanese magic box.

To get to the exhibition from the metro, click on the down arrow.

The exhibition is closed. Please note that near the entrance there is a stand telling about mechanical cats. Turn right and approach the girl behind the counter of a small shop - this is Yumi.

She will ask you to fold a bento, a box of traditional Japanese food. This puzzle is randomly generated and there is no progression.

The principle of the solution is this. On the left are boxes with ingredients, and on the right are instructions. You need to fill in all 9 squares. Start with those squares where there are double pictures: rabbit-rice, bear-egg, etc. For example, in the first picture in the central slot there is a picture of a rabbit and an egg - this means that on the left you need to take the egg with the picture of a rabbit and put it in the central slot. In the upper left corner of the instructions there is a picture of a cat and an egg - which means you need to put an egg with a picture of a cat here. Etc.

Some solutions:

If you place a lot of bento, you will receive a star for your title at the end of the game, and you can also win an additional keychain for your cell phone from Yumi.

Talk to Yumi, who will ask you to go to her house and bring some bento boxes. She will give you the key to the apartment and tell you her mobile phone number.

Yumi lives at Kurume Station. Go to the metro and take a new route:

Matsue – Iga – Kobe – Miyazaki – Urawa – Kurume.

When you arrive in Kurume, you will receive two text messages from Yumi.

Open the door and grab some bento boxes from the kitchen table. Turn to the right and find the computer disk in the wardrobe. Go to your computer and look at the disc.

If you watch the disc, you will receive an asterisk for the title at the end of the game.

Try turning on your computer, but it requires a password.

Look on the shelf above the computer and read the letter from Kasumi, Yumi and Miwako's mother. There are frogs on the shelf, lift the right one - there is something inside, but it is locked with a combination lock. Read a book about shadow theater (at the computer, under the photo frame). It seems like someone is playing a prank on you using a model attached to long sticks...

Turn around to the bed and take the blue book about ghosts from under the pillow. Inside is a business card from the author, Savannah Woodham. Flip through the book and notice that the chapter about the ryokan has been torn out. Call Savannah, but you can only talk to her assistant Logan, who will hang up. Call back again, but he won’t talk again. The answering machine will turn on for the third time.

Return to the exhibition in Matsue (the information board already has this station and you will be taken there automatically). Give the bento boxes - Yumi will give you a cell phone keychain in gratitude. Ask her about the books and the disk - it turns out that the book about shadow theater belongs to Miwako.

Be sure to praise her outfit, and Yumi will tell you that she models the dresses herself using the Avatar program on her computer. Yumi will agree to give you the password to log into the computer if you lay out the bento again. When you do this, you will receive a piece of paper with a stencil of multi-colored circles.

Return home to Yumi. Someone will call you in front of the door of her apartment, but you will only hear interference on the receiver. Go to the computer. Look at the stencil sheet that Yumi gave you and remember its shape and colorful circles. Click on the “Avatar” tab and select a stencil of the same shape. Move it around the screen until you find circles of the same color as on the hint. The computer will open.

Select one of the empty slots on the screen and model the clothes. On the right side of the screen is a keyboard for sending SMS messages. Make several different avatars and send them to yourself, Bess, Jess, Yumi and Savannah (to do this, look in the “Phone - Contacts - Settings” tab on your mobile phone and type them on the computer screen). Then click on “Send” and the avatar will be sent to the recipient. In order to save an avatar in your mobile phone, go to “Phone – Contacts – Settings”. Above the name and phone number is a blank silhouette that can be scrolled using the arrows. Select the appropriate avatar and click the “Save” button.

If you make a sufficient number of different avatars and send them to everyone you know, you will receive an asterisk for your title at the end of the game.

When you leave the computer, you will receive two SMSs - about creating avatars and a funny black and white one. Return to the ryokan, set your alarm for 19:00 and go to bed.

3. Day three

Go to class in room 18.

Today Takae will teach you the tea ceremony. You need to remember the names of all items and place signs in front of them.

Solution (same for both difficulty levels):

After this, the light will flash, and the ghost will walk along the balcony again. Talk to Takae and she will tell you that this is her daughter Kasumi. Call Savannah again, but you will again have to talk to Logan. Call your girlfriends back and complain that you can’t get through to the author of the book about the ryokan. Because Logan and Savannah are currently at the exhibition, then Jess will have a plan. They will try to find Savannah, and while Bess distracts Logan, you can talk to the writer (you cannot enter the exhibition because you do not have a ticket).

Go to Rentaro and thank him for fixing your balcony door. Ask him what happened to the portrait in the hall, and he will offer to fix it.

It is necessary to untangle the wires so that they do not intersect each other.

Junior detective:

Senior Detective:

After that, click on the portrait frame and take out the certificate and the old newspaper clipping. The certificate was issued by paranormal expert Savannah Woodham and states that the inn is cleared of evil spirits and is fit for habitation. Talk to Rentaro about Savannah and show him the clipping, but he will refuse to translate it.

As you walk out the door, Jess will call you and tell you that she found Savannah. Call back and talk to her about all topics. Savannah will tell you that the mirror and shadow on the balcony are just illusions. Unfortunately, she doesn’t have the book, but she’s ready to translate the newspaper clipping if you send it to Logan.

Go to your room for the envelope (located in the brown folder). Place a newspaper clipping in the envelope. Call Savannah again - now Logan will answer the phone. He really liked Bess, and for her sake he is ready to look for a book. Take the envelope to Miwako. Go out into the hallway or garden and call Savannah again. Logan found the book, but wants to receive some kind of gift from Bess - for example, a photograph (in the meantime, you will receive another SMS from Yumi).

Go to Yumi's apartment. Choose the most beautiful avatar and send it to Savannah's number. An SMS from Logan will immediately come with gratitude. Call him back, and he will say that he will send the book to Bess.

Return to the hotel, and as soon as you enter the corridor, three text messages will arrive from Logan with a translation of a newspaper clipping: 15-year-old Yumi called the police when she discovered her mother Kasumi lying unconscious in the hallway in front of the sauna. They could not revive her and she was pronounced dead from drowning.

Return to Miwako and tell her you know how her mother died. Miwako will answer that it was not an accident. I need to talk to Takae. When you enter the hallway, the lights will flash, the doors will slam, and water will begin to flow from the ceiling. Strange…

Takae will refuse to say what happened the night Kasumi died. Go back and you will see that at this time the last guest is leaving the hotel. Miwako is crying.

Talk to her and promise that you will recommend this hotel to your friends. Go up to your room - the number “2” has disappeared from the sign on the door and now only the number “4” hangs, which for the Japanese means “death”. Set your alarm for 19.00 and go to bed.

4. Day four

The next day your girlfriends will call you and say that they have received the book and will send it to the hotel address. While you're waiting for the book, you can have a little fun. Go to Kure to the slot machine hall.

The route is like this:

Misawa - Nagoya - Otsu - Aomori - Ube - Sakai - Kure.

Opposite the entrance there is a machine with prizes. Nancy will be interested in comics, which are worth 1339 points. Turn to the slot machines and insert the card you found in the sauna (in the basket) into the slot. It has a non-reducible balance of 50 units, i.e. when you decide to take your winnings and move away from the machine, there will again be 50 units left on the card.

First Easter egg:

You need to score from 15 to 30 points, no more and no less. To do this, try to hit the large yellow lever so that the ball does not fall into the central daisy, but under the paws of the animals on the sides (here they give 1 point). The most convenient for getting an Easter egg is the left machine, in which the ball more often falls into the paws of animals and less often rolls into a daisy. Try not to hit too hard (on the 1st space), and if you see that the number of balls won is approaching 30, it is better to take the winnings, move away from the machine and save the game. Then you can come up again and win 1 point.

When you have collected the required number of balls, turn to the prize machine and place the bag in the slot on the right. One of the prizes will turn into an Easter egg, which costs 1 marble.

Now you need to score 1339 points to buy a comic book. The tactics are exactly the opposite - choose the right and middle machine and try to get into the central daisy (it’s best to click on the 2nd space).

Buy comics and be sure to read them. Return to the hotel.

Miwako will call you, take the book from her and read the article about the ryokan - Savannah used in her work a device called EVP, which records the voices of ghosts. Call Savannah, talk about the device and the werewolf - yurei, which you read about in the comics. Ask if she remembers where she stayed at the hotel. The writer will answer that she lived in a room on the second floor, where there was a secret passage to the basement.

Go to Rentaro, ask him about the EVP device, and he will give it to you.

Go to your room to set the clock to 1 am and try to find out if Miwako's computer has information about the room where Savannah Woodham lived. You will find wet footprints on the floor!

At 1 am, go down to the hall. Examine the computer - you need a password here, and on the keyboard there are hieroglyphs instead of letters. If you carefully read a book on calligraphy, you will see that these are hieroglyphs in the Hiragana style. Try to rummage through the papers on the table, but the mechanical cat won’t let you. Turn towards the wall - there is a small control panel on it, behind which the keys to the rooms are stored. Read the note that lies nearby on the nightstand - to open the control panel, you need five cards of different colors. Look at the panel - one card is missing.

Go back and in your room you will see that instead of a sign written in black ink, there is a sign written in red ink.

Set your alarm clock to 19:00.

5. Day five

When you were at the exhibition, you saw a stand with information about mechanical cats. Call your girlfriends and ask if they can find out anything about it. Jess will promise to help.

It's time to record the voices of ghosts. You need to select a channel (in turn from 1 to 10), turn on the device with the upper left button and record the signal. Each new signal must be recorded on a new channel. If there is a signal, a scale will appear on the device display; if there is no signal, a straight line will appear on the display.

Places where you need to record the signal:

1) fire in the hall (there is a signal)

2) sauna near the pool (no signal)

3) sauna near the mirror (there is a signal). You need to go to the mirror and turn around.

4) 2nd floor near Nancy's room (there is a signal)

5) 2nd floor, opposite wing, in the middle of the corridor (no signal)

6) cherry tree (there is a signal). This point is difficult to find. Go from the hall along the right path past the lake and find the active point on the large tree. Click on the tree and you will be behind it.

7) signal for the second Easter egg - stand in the garden with your back to the hall and go to the center of the lake along the stones to the large lantern. Get close to the lamp and record the signal.

(In the meantime, you will receive another SMS from Yumi.) Return to your room and set the clock to 1 am.

Go to Rentaro's house and look at the shelf to the right of the table. Place the device on the base and listen to all the recordings (you need to select a signal on the device and press the triangular button on the base). Yumi and Miwako were talking under the cherry tree, after which something fell into the water.

Your girlfriends will call you back and say that they have found the creator of mechanical cats. He will give you instructions with commands to control the cat in exchange for solving a difficult puzzle. Jess will fax it to the hotel.

Exit Rentaro's house, cross the bridge and immediately turn right. The previously missing arrow “to the right under the bridge” will appear here. Go down there. In the water you should find the key to room 18, and Nancy will notice the stone slab on the left side under the bridge. It's missing four stones - you'll have to look for it.

Climb out from under the bridge, turn left and follow the path to the hall.

Stand facing the entrance so that in front of you there is a stone bench on the right, and approximately at your level on the left there is a large lantern in the center of the lake. Find the active spot on the grass near the bench.

Step towards the entrance, turn around and step towards the stone lantern in the center of the lake. At its base, take the second stone.

Go to the cherry tree along the path from the hall to Rentaro's house. Pick up the third stone on the grass on the right under the tree.

Take one step and find the last stone on the left in the grass near the lantern, approximately at the level of the stone bench.

Go back under the bridge. At the beginning of the game, in the lobby you saw a book on stones in a Japanese garden, which gave their description and purpose. The stones need to be arranged like this:

soul stone (in the slot where the snake is drawn) - looks like a pyramid,

the body stone (where the man is drawn) is the highest,

heart stone (where the heart is drawn) is a flat stone,

tree stone (where a tree is drawn) – a triangular stone,

the animal stone (where the bull's head is drawn) is an uneven stone with one corner higher than the other.

Solution (same for both difficulty levels):

From the opened cache, take Kasumi's letter with some instructions.

Go to room 18 and open it with the key you found. There is a red card lying on the floor to the right of the table, which is not enough to launch the control panel in the hall - take it with you.

Now you need to solve the puzzle that you found under the bridge. Open the middle right drawer of the locker and take out the origami book. A puzzle will appear in front of you (hints are written on the instructions in Roman numerals).

For example, step one is a Roman numeral I and a fold line with a broken dotted line. Look in a book on origami and find exactly the same dotted line - it means “fold in half with the top up.” Select the correct answer from the options on the right and proceed to the second step.

The second step is a Roman numeral II and an arrow with a triangular tip. The book says that such an arrow means “bend the corner forward.” Etc.

Solution (same for both difficulty levels):

fold in half with the top up, fold the corner forward, fold the corner forward, bend and unbend, fold the corner back, turn over. You should now have bamboo.

There is a bamboo structure in the garden near Rentaro's house. Go there and check it out - Nancy must say that this bamboo is very reminiscent of origami. Go to Rentaro's house and pick up a screwdriver from the right shelf (next to the base for the EVP device). Use a screwdriver to unscrew the lid on the left bamboo and take the piece of paper with a piece of the Japanese puzzle.

Second Easter egg:

Listen to the signal at the lantern in the center of the lake in Rentaro's house. A magical voice will tell you to look under the cracked tiles. Go to the sauna and face the pool. Find the active point on the floor and pick up the egg.

Now you have all five cards to open the lock on the key box. Go to the hall.

The pattern on the control panel consists of multi-colored squares. Insert any card into one of the slots on the left - you will see that several squares on the right light up, and a geometric figure appears under the slot with the card. If you press the button on the top or bottom of the card slot, the figure will rotate. Insert any other card and you will see that the shapes overlap each other. The principle of this puzzle is to place all the cards in a certain order and rotate them so as to properly illuminate the picture.

Solution (same for both difficulty levels):

Insert the cards like this: blue, red, green, yellow, purple. Rotate the blue piece 1 time with the bottom button, rotate the red piece 1 time with the bottom button, leave the green piece alone, rotate the yellow piece 1 time with the bottom button, rotate the purple piece 1 time with the bottom button.

Take the key from the box that opens numbers ending with numbers 8 and 9.

Go to your room and set your alarm for 19:00.

6. Day six

Go down to the hall and automatically Miwako will give you a letter from Jess. Open it and inside is a super sudoku puzzle.

Junior detective:

Senior Detective:

Place the Super Sudoku in an envelope and take it to Miwako. Go to your room and call your girlfriends. Ask them about cat commands. Bess will say that the main command is “Mate” (calm down). Ask them about other teams and set the alarm for 1 am.

Go down to the hall, order the cat “Mate”, and he will freeze. Pick up the brown box he is guarding. You should have found instructions on how to open it on the railing in the subway at Matsue station.

The box consists of two upper strips, one middle and one lower. The instructions say that you first need to move all the slats down.

Junior detective:

1) Click on all the slats so that they are highlighted in blue. A down arrow will appear in the middle below the bottom bar, click on it. If everything is correct, you will hear the sound of the lock opening, and the latch on the top of the box will open.

2) Select only the middle bar and click on the left arrow.

3) Select all the bars and click on the up arrow above the top bars.

4) Select only the bottom bar and click on the “right” arrow.

5) Select only the middle bar and click on the left arrow.

6) Select only the top right bar and click on the right arrow.

For senior detective additionally:

7) Select only the top left bar and click on the left arrow.

The box will open, take the iron object and the envelope. Use the dictionary on it - the envelope says: “Password.” You need to try to open the envelope without anyone noticing. At the bottom of the box there is another letter, read it - this is a letter from Kasumi.

Go to room 18 and open the large left locker drawer. Take the kettle and key from there. Open the lower right drawer with the key and take out another letter from Kasumi. Go to the hall, go to the fireplace and hang the kettle on the hook over the coals. Use the envelope with the password on the teapot and read: “Takakawa.” Take the kettle.

Return to room 18, open the top right drawer of the locker and take out the calligraphy book. Open the book to the hiragana page and remember what the hieroglyphs look like.

Go to the computer, calm the cat down and type in the code (don't forget to press "ka" twice), then press "Enter".

You will see a list of guests and the rooms they stayed in. Write down a list of rooms that do not accommodate guests, and from them, select those that are on the second floor - these are rooms 25, 30 and 33.

Third Easter egg:

Open the box a second time. There is an egg inside.

Place the envelope with the password back into the box. If you do this, you will receive an asterisk for your title at the end of the game.

If you play with the cat a lot, you will receive an asterisk for your title at the end of the game.

Time to go to bed. Set your alarm clock to 19:00.

7. Day seven

Call Savannah and ask if she remembered anything new about her hotel room. She will answer that there was a painting with a bird above the secret passage.

The iron object is shaped like an ornament in a shower. Go there, and the item automatically found in the Japanese box will be among the other pieces of the mosaic. Assemble the ornament in the center slot using the pieces on the left. RMB rotates the pieces.

A secret hole will open and you will see Miwako and Rentaro quarreling.

Go to the hall and try to ask Miwako about her relationship with Rentaro, but she, as usual, will avoid answering. Go to Rentaro's house and ask this question again. Rentaro will answer that he is to blame for the girl and wants to give her a gift - a collar for the cat. Nancy will automatically agree to do this (in the meantime, you will receive another SMS from Yumi).

Go to Kure to the slot machine hall. You can take a little break and win some prize for your collection.

If you win all the prizes, you will receive an asterisk for your title at the end of the game.

The collar costs 2100 points. Buy it and take it to Rentaro. He will immediately go to Miwako, and you will examine his desk and take the plastic card with the image of an asterisk.

Now you need to check rooms 25, 30 and 33.

You can start from room 25, which is in your wing. Open room 29 with the key you found under the control panel in the hall. Turn left and notice that between adjacent rooms there is a door that can be opened with some object with a star on it. You already have such an item - a plastic Rentaro card. You can go through all the doors to room 25, but you won't find anything interesting in it. Go to the opposite wing to the second floor. You can also go from room 38 to room 30, but there is nothing interesting in it either.

The remaining room is 33. Open the door to room 39 and go to room 33. As you pass through room 35, you will hear an eerie sound. Once you open the door to room 33, you will fall into a trap. Nancy will quickly slam the door.

Timed task.

Quickly run to the balcony door, which has a mosaic-shaped lock on it. You have to complete the puzzle, otherwise someone will knock down the door and the game will end.

The mosaic consists of 6 similar sectors. Select any colored piece, find all the other 5 and paint them with the same color by clicking on the buttons on the right. It is better to go sequentially from the outer pieces to the center of the mosaic. The bottom gray button is color reset.

Solution (same for both difficulty levels):

After this, the door will open and you will jump out into the garden.

Return to room 39 (you will receive the sixth SMS from Yumi). Go to room 33 - it is the fourth in a row and has beige wallpaper. Approach the painting on the left wall - there is a wooden bird depicted here.

Click on the painting and a secret passage will open in the closet. Go down it to the basement. Examine the wall on the left - for some reason it is filled with bricks. Turn around and look at the muddy pool, in which something will stir.

Turn right and approach the small altar to the left of the door. A piece of paper with the Japanese crossword puzzle that you found in the bamboo will automatically appear on the screen. Nancy will say that she needs to find the other half of the puzzle. Look at the table to the right of the door and read the note from Yumi to Miwako: "Stop this or you will regret it."

Go up. You should receive the last, seventh SMS, which shows Rentaro and Yumi (if this does not happen, talk to Rentaro, Takae and Miwako). Nancy decides to print the photos. Go to Kure.

To the right of the entrance there is a machine with a picture of a koala bear. Click on it and open the front panel. This is an instant photograph. Press your hand on the slot in the lower right corner of the screen - Nancy will automatically put her mobile phone there. In front of you is a display with two functions - take a photo or print a photo. Click on "Print" and print all color photos.

Fourth Easter egg:

Print out the black and white drawing and pick up the egg with the cat in the blue robe. Don't forget to take your cell phone.

You can take a photo and try to guess what Nancy Drew looks like in the blurry photo (optional).

In your inventory, click on any photo. All seven photos that need to be organized will appear on the screen.

Solution (same for both difficulty levels):

There are some Japanese characters in the photographs - you need to ask Yumi about them.

Go to the exhibition. Yumi will answer that it is a digital code and will force you to help her with the bento again. After this, Yumi will tell you that the last subway train has already left and will invite you to spend the night with her.

Automatically you will find yourself near the door of Yumi's apartment. Open the door, go to the shelf above the computer and take the green frog. Dial the four numbers you saw in the photos and get the second part of the Japanese crossword puzzle.

At night someone will knock on the window. Pull back the curtain and read the message on the glass.

8. Day eight

Return to the ryokan and go to the basement. Go to the wall with the Japanese crossword puzzle.

Junior detective:

Senior Detective:

A secret panel will open. Read Kasumi's letter and take the sword. As soon as you move away from the panel, a ghost will attack you. You will find yourself underwater.

Timed task.

Take the sword and quickly cut the ropes.

Solution (same for both difficulty levels):

When you surface, examine the one who attacked you (you need to lift the ghost's head by the hair and examine his hand). Go to room 18 and talk to Takae about Kasumi. Now we need to find Rentaro.

When you enter his house, Rentaro will not be there, but a new EVP device will appear at the base. Take it with you. Check the table and use a dictionary to read the note on the pink piece of paper with room number 33: “Today everything must end!” Take the orange device - this is the universal key. Go to room 33 (you need to open the door with the master key directly from the corridor).

Inside you will find a villain. As soon as control passes to you, quickly open your inventory and use the universal key on the door. The door will slam shut, and on the table in front of you will be all the keys and electronic devices that you collected during the game. Grab the EVP device and turn it on. Record the conversation with the villain. Choose any of two endings.

After the game, don't forget to watch a selection of unsuccessful takes.

Now you need to check rooms 25, 30 and 33.
You can start from room 25, which is in your wing. Open room 29 with the key you found under the control panel in the hall. Turn left and notice that between adjacent rooms there is a door that can be opened with some object with a star on it. You already have such an item # Rentaro plastic card.
